Genee

How fun to find someone who saw one of the old ads. It is indeed the same Gold Cone invented and patented by Bill Klein. I am carrying on the family business of selling Gold Cones to those who like to explore the world and prospect for gold at the same time. Bill always met the most interesting people and I could not resist that experience at all. If one is looking for a lightweight addition to a trip and enjoys prospecting in creeks, perhaps between trout, then the cone is a great companion. It is a quick efficient method to sift for gold and Bill tested it and used it for many years. My luck is much the same with trout, I am still working on locating gold, although the panning is fun.

My husband & I were reading an issue of NORTHWEST LIVING from march/april 1998,pg.29,and there is an AD for the GOLD CONE !! The address at that time was in Bainbridge Island. Is this the same gold cone that you sell and your father-in-law sold - was this his AD? - Just curious. We also would be interested in more info. Sincerely, Mrs. Gillis

Glenn

Sorry for the delay in getting back in touch with you. I was taking a summer sales swing through the midwest, pictures will be on the website soon.

Gold Cones are indeed available for sale and there should be a shopping cart on the web site. The web guy is a bit behind over the summer. Simply email me at john@thegoldcone.com and let me know if you are interested. Oh, they cost $20 ea, plus shipping, shipping billed once for the entire order.

I bought the business from my Father In Law who actually designed the gold cone while working in Alaska. He traveled extensively in Alaska and the West and has always had better luck with it than any other type of panning tool he used which is why it sold well in Alaska for some time. I asked him this summer to send some pictures of him using it and those should be posted online as well.
