This is the ultimate in lightweight, hand panning devices …ideal for campers, hikers, fishermen, hunters, rock hounds, and treasure hunters to have for that unexpected opportunity to recover “placer” gold.
It can be folded or flattened and carried conveniently in the prospector’s pocket or packsack. Since it weighs only seven ounces, it is perfect for backpacking into remote regions generally overlooked by prospectors with heavier equipment.
CONING for gold. This new technique simplifies the gold panning process. It is highly efficient and easier to learn than the conventional, old “forty-niner” panning method of gold rush days. You’ll soon find yourself skilled in the most adÂvanced “hand panning” technique for recovering placer gold ever developed.
The GOLD CONE is made of thermoplastic rubber which is tough, durable, and virtually indestructible. It has excellent chemical, weathering, and aging resistance, low temperature flexibility, and can be recycled. It is flexible enough to return to its original cone shape after flexure and strong enough to maintain its shape when full of placer material. Under normal use, this CONE should last you several years. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.

Is the gold cone for sale? If you’vd panned gold with it and
it works good, send me some info and prices.
Best regards,
Glenn

Sorry for the delay in getting back in touch with you. I was taking a summer sales swing through the midwest, pictures will be on the website soon.
Gold Cones are indeed available for sale and there should be a shopping cart on the web site. The web guy is a bit behind over the summer. Simply email me at john@thegoldcone.com and let me know if you are interested. Oh, they cost $20 ea, plus shipping, shipping billed once for the entire order.
I bought the business from my Father In Law who actually designed the gold cone while working in Alaska. He traveled extensively in Alaska and the West and has always had better luck with it than any other type of panning tool he used which is why it sold well in Alaska for some time. I asked him this summer to send some pictures of him using it and those should be posted online as well.
My husband & I were reading an issue of NORTHWEST LIVING from march/april 1998,pg.29,and there is an AD for the GOLD CONE !! The address at that time was in Bainbridge Island. Is this the same gold cone that you sell and your father-in-law sold – was this his AD? – Just curious. We also would be interested in more info. Sincerely, Mrs. Gillis

How fun to find someone who saw one of the old ads. It is indeed the same Gold Cone invented and patented by Bill Klein. I am carrying on the family business of selling Gold Cones to those who like to explore the world and prospect for gold at the same time. Bill always met the most interesting people and I could not resist that experience at all. If one is looking for a lightweight addition to a trip and enjoys prospecting in creeks, perhaps between trout, then the cone is a great companion. It is a quick efficient method to sift for gold and Bill tested it and used it for many years. My luck is much the same with trout, I am still working on locating gold, although the panning is fun.
